SHAKTI FOUNDATION believes if every able Indian shows a little bit of interest and responsibility in the betterment of the backward section of the society, nothing can stop our country from restoring its lost ancient glory as the economically robust nation of the globe. While this is a far-fetched dream that cannot be turned into reality overnight, Rojgar Abhiyan is giving all Indians a chance to take a small step for initiating the revolution of change for better tomorrow. Be it monetary aid, employment opportunities or voluntary support join our journey and advance your helping hands to eradicate the darkness of poverty making India Atmanirbhar by all means. Jai Hind!
To eliminate unemployment by bringing together the job seekers & providers; to provide assistance and support of the technology to all the unprivileged section of the society in getting the employment through the promotion and collaboration with the like minded organization & people.
The mission of the Rojgar Abhiyan is to collaborate, inspire and inform people around the country through the power of social media, digital platform, seminar and workshops to come forward to provide employment to the under privileged section of the society to make them self reliant.
According to the International Labour Organization (ILO) – a United Nations agency, unemployment is rising in India and the "unemployment rate in the country will stand at 3.5 percent in 2018 and 2019. The same level of unemployment seen in 2017 and 2016", instead of dropping to 3.4 percent as it had previously projected. We at Shakti Foundation are committed to change this scenario so, started the Rojgar Abhiyan to match the skill of the workers with right job to make them self-reliant.
SHAKTI FOUNDATION was established in February 2014 under the leadership of Ranjana Deb. Initially, Shakti Foundation commenced its journey with a skill development program where instructors used to offer free dance classes and sewing courses for the members of slums. Hundreds of poor women and girls were given the chance to cultivate their skills by learning and practising Nritya Kala and Silai Kadhai under the mentorship of professional tutors and dance instructors who collaborated with our NGO.
In 2016, our non-profit organization launched advanced learning programs in Social Media Marketing, Web Journalism and Photography Courses. We partnered with proficient journalists, expert digital marketing mentors and professional photographers who offered quality training courses for the bright and passionate students belonging to economically challenged backgrounds. 120 learners enrolled for our initial courses and all of them are now well-established, professionals in their respective fields and some of them are trending Youtubers with a huge subscriber base on the digital platform.
Shakti Foundation inaugurated the Indian School Of Cinematic Art in 2019 with a vision to impart quality teaching in exceptional programs like 2D & 3D Animation and Photography courses. While getting access to these courses requires high fees and expenses, the Indian School Of Cinematic Art was providing the courses for nominal cost so that students who are financially weak can enrol for the classes without the concern of monetary restriction. Many students all over India signed up for our classes and the program went successfully for 2-3months until the dark phase of the Pandemic started.
The endeavours of the Indian School Of Cinematic Art were terminated as the Nationwide Lockdown came into effectiveness. However, Shakti Foundation did not stop performing its societal duties and we switched our concern towards the traumatic condition of the migrant labourers due to major worker layoffs, reverse migration, scarcity of jobs and factory close-downs. The horror of the Pandemic led to an extreme human tragedy where the whole nation was afflicted by both virus and poverty.
To rescue workers from this extreme dilemma, Shakti Foundation launched ShramApp to ensure a steady earning channel for every labourer's family. This app was designed to serve as a linking bridge between work and workers. However, since many workers neither have sufficient knowledge to handle technology nor have access to smartphones and internet facilities, Shram App didn't reach the expected number of users to fulfil the purpose. However, to make Shram App a successful project, Shakti Foundation has launched ROJGAR ABHIYAN and this initiative has changed 10000+ lives by connecting labourers with jobs on the basis of need and skill-matching.
We have a large network of 2000+ volunteers who are working all over India to bring massive transformation in the lives of the worker community fighting scarcity and joblessness. Many NGOs, Educational Institutions, Schools, Donors, Social Workers, Labour firms, and Volunteers collaborated with Shakti Foundation in making Rojgar Abhiyan effective in achieving its goals. At present, our new campaign is focused on the Delhi NCR region for labour empowerment, and we are open to a productive collaboration with Volunteer, NGOs, recruiting firms, donor parties to take this program to the grand level of success covering all the unprivileged sections of the country.
